Akwugo Onuekwusi
Akwugo is on the investment team at Verod Capital Management Limited where she is responsible for the evaluation, diligencing, structuring, monitoring and management of investments. She is also involved with the firm’s investor relations function, which involves liaising with and updating the firm’s LPs.
Prior to joining Verod she spent 7 years at Chapel Hill Advisory Partners Limited, where she assisted public and private entities in raising capital to spur growth. At Chapel Hill, she also helped companies and private equity firms acquire and/or sell assets and provided financial advice to government entities including the CBN, AMCON and SEC, as well as, to many large Corporations including GSK, Lafarge, Access Bank and Custodian & Allied Insurance Plc.
She recently completed an MBA (with a concentration in Finance & Private Equity) from Columbia Business School where she was the Dong-Bin Shin Fellow. She has a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Computer Science from Washington & Lee University. Akwugo is interested in helping businesses optimize their operations and achieve scale. She is also very involved with the Lagos State Government employment readiness and entrepreneurship initiative ReadySetWork, where she volunteers as a facilitator.
