Yvonne Mokgoro
In Memory of Yvonne Mokgoro a former justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa and the first black woman to hold the office. She holds five honorary professorships from various universities. She is a founding Trustee of The Mandela Rhodes Foundation and serves on several boards, university councils, trusts, and law bodies. She has received numerous awards such as the Human Rights Award by the Black Lawyers Association, the Oude Molen Reserve Order of Merit, and the Legal Profession's Woman Achiever Award by the Centre for Human Rights in 2001. After her tenure on the Constitutional Court, she was appointed to serve as Special Ambassador for the University of Venda. She was appointed to serve as an official Advocate for Social Cohesion in South Africa from 2013 to 2018. Her remarkable career is proof of her dedication to the legal profession and human rights of South Africans.
